The CentOS project has announced the preparation of git repositories with the necessary changes for building and running the distribution on RISC-V processor systems. RISC-V specific changes are available in the project's git repositories in the 'c10s-rv' branches. In the near future, the prepared changes will be moved from separate repositories into the main CentOS Stream, allowing for standard builds of CentOS Stream for RISC-V.
Meanwhile, Red Hat, as promised in the announcement of the release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 10, has published a ready-to-use test build of RHEL 10 for the RISC-V platform SiFive HiFive Premier P550. Additionally, an archive (12.3 GB) of the source texts of the packages involved in this build has been published. This data is available for registered users of the Red Hat Customer Portal.
