The release of the MODICIA 6.12.41 distribution, based on the Debian package base, has been published, offering a selection of applications for musicians, designers, and video creators. The user environment is built using the Cinnamon desktop. The project supports an application catalog consisting of about 1000 packages. The size of the ISO image, which can boot in live mode, is 4.7 GB (x86_64).
The distribution has been developed since 1998 and is notable for enabling high-performance CPU mode (Turbo Boost) by default and delivering a kernel version that operates in real-time mode. To run multimedia programs compiled for Windows, Wine is used. For compressing data stored in RAM, Zram (compressed RAM disk) is employed, and to reduce swap usage activity, the kernel parameter vm.swappiness is reduced from 60 to 10.
In the new version:
- The package base has been updated to Debian 13.
- The placement of the temporary files directory in tmpfs has significantly accelerated system operations such as software installation and updates.
- The Linux kernel 6.12.41 is enabled by default, including Realtime mode.
- For package management, the default package manager is Nala based on libapt, which supports parallel package downloads.

- The desktop environment has been updated to Cinnamon version 6.4.10. The user interface is styled to resemble macOS. Wayland support has improved, window management features have been optimized, and multitasking has been enhanced.
