The first corrective update for the Debian 13 distribution has been released, which includes package updates issued within a month since the release of the new branch, and resolves issues in the installer. The release includes 72 updates addressing stability issues and 16 updates addressing vulnerabilities.
Changes in Debian 13.1 include updates to fresh stable versions of packages such as dpdk, galera, git, glib, gnome-online-accounts, gnome-shell, gssdp, libadwaita-1, librepo, mariadb, mozjs128, network-manager-openvpn, pcre2, postfix, postgresql, ptyxis, qemu, samba, systemd. The package manager guix has been removed from the distribution as it is no longer maintained and contains security issues.
Installation builds with Debian 13.1 will be prepared for download and installation from scratch in the coming hours. Systems that were previously installed and kept up to date will receive updates present in Debian 13.1 through the standard update installation system. Security fixes included in the new Debian releases are available to users as updates are released through the security.debian.org service.
At the same time, a new release of the previous stable branch Debian 12.12 is available, which includes 135 updates addressing stability issues and 83 updates addressing vulnerabilities. Packages such as apache2, clamav, dpdk, galera, libsoup3, llvm-toolchain, mariadb, openssl, postgresql, rar, rustc-web, systemd, usb.ids, wireless-regdb have been updated to fresh stable versions. The guix package has been removed.
