Oracle has released a patch for the VirtualBox virtualization system version 7.2.4, addressing 8 vulnerabilities, the details of which have not yet been disclosed. It is only noted that the most serious issue has a severity level of 8.2 out of 10. In addition to the vulnerabilities, the new version includes 6 changes:
- Initial support for Linux kernel 6.18 has been implemented in the additions for guest systems and host environments with Linux.
- Corrections have been made in the additions for guest systems with Linux to support kernel packages from RHEL versions 9.6 and 9.7.
- Issues encountered during installation in the Windows XP SP2 guest environment have been resolved in the additions for guest systems with Windows.
- The manager crash has been fixed of virtual machines when returning the host environment from sleep mode.
- Problems in the address translator that occurred when using multiple port redirection rules have been addressed.
