The release of ONLYOFFICE DocumentServer 9.2 has been published, featuring a server for ONLYOFFICE online editors and collaborative work organization. The editors can be used for working with text documents, spreadsheets, and presentations. The project code is distributed under the AGPLv3 free license. Ready builds are provided for Linux, Windows, and macOS.
At the same time, the release of the ONLYOFFICE DesktopEditors 9.2 product has been formed, built on a single code base with the online editors. The desktop editors are presented as desktop applications, written in JavaScript using web technologies, but combine both client and server components, designed for standalone use on the user's local system without referencing an external service. The Nextcloud Hub platform can also be used for collaboration on its own infrastructure, where complete integration with ONLYOFFICE is ensured.
ONLYOFFICE claims full compatibility with MS Office and OpenDocument formats. Supported formats include: DOC, DOCX, ODT, RTF, TXT, PDF, HTML, EPUB, XPS, DjVu, XLS, XLSX, ODS, CSV, PPT, PPTX, ODP. The functionality of the editors can be extended through plugins, for instance, plugins for creating templates and adding videos from YouTube are available. Pre-built packages are available for Windows and Linux (deb and rpm packages).
Key innovations:
- The desktop build includes an AI assistant capable of generating documents, filling out forms in PDF files, analyzing and summarizing content, performing operations with local files, connecting to external AI services via the MCP protocol, and searching for information through search engines.

- Vulnerabilities have been eliminated in DocumentServer: cross-site scripting (XSS) in denyEditingRights and the possibility of adding a named range in protected documents through websocket manipulation. Redis databases have been updated to eliminate vulnerability CVE-2025-49844 and the linux-libc-dev package has been added. protection against attack VMScape.
