The positions in the ranking are calculated based on the number of page views for information about each license. The data has been filtered to exclude bots. Leading by a large margin is the MIT license, followed by the Apache 2.0, BSD3, BSD2, GPL 2, and GPL 3 licenses. Compared to the 2024 statistics, the Apache 2.0 license shifted BSD3 from second to third place, while the LGPLv3 and OFL-1.1 climbed to eighth and ninth places, respectively, pushing the LGPLv2.1 license down to tenth place.
