The release of the lightweight Linux distribution ArchBang 1001 has been announced, based on the developments of Arch Linux and providing a user interface built on the Labwc compositing manager. The distribution offers a continuous release cycle for updates, allowing you to always work with the latest versions of software from the Arch Linux repositories. The size of the ISO image is 1.4 GB.
The new version features a transition to the Labwc compositing manager, which uses the Wayland protocol and is similar in capabilities to the Openbox window manager that was originally used in ArchBang. The dmenu application menu has been replaced with wmenu, which supports Wayland. To run X11 applications, XWayland has been included. Other changes include the installer now operating in full-screen mode, the addition of an applet for configuring network connections via NetworkManager, and a redesign of the theme.
