fastfetch 2.58

The release of version 2.58 of the cross-platform console utility fastfetch has taken place, designed to display system information similar to neofetch.

The project is written in C and is distributed under the MIT license.

In the new version:

• The option de.slowVersionDetection has been removed. Slow version detection is now always enabled as it is necessary for distributions that do not comply with the FHS standard (such as NixOS, #2149, DE, Linux). It can still be disabled using general.detectVersion: false.

• Support has been added for detecting the version of Bedrock Linux (#2155, OS, Linux).

• A command line flag —structure-disabled has been added for temporarily disabling the output of module structure. For example: fastfetch —structure-disabled colors removes color blocks from the standard output.

• Support for detecting the chassis type on Linux ARM devices has been added, if the data is passed through the device tree.

• Compliance with the DBPath and RootDir settings in pacman.conf has been ensured when searching for Pacman packages (#2154, Packages, Linux).

• A Kiss2 logo has been added.

• Bug fixes:

  • A crash on KDE Plasma 6.6 has been fixed.
  • The Command module with the —dynamic-interval parameter has been fixed (#2152).
  • The version detection for Quartz Compositor has been fixed. Now it correctly reports the version of WindowServer (SkyLight) instead of WindowManager. (WM, macOS)
