Enthusiast Jiacheng Liu has created an unusual modification to the graphics card by installing core components from the professional Nvidia Titan RTX onto the consumer GeForce RTX 2080 Ti — it now features an unlocked processor and a full memory set.

While standard RTX 2080 Ti models had a GPU with 4352 CUDA cores, the modified version received a 4608-core TU102-400-A1 chip, with maximum power skyrocketing from 300 to 900 watts. Instead of the 352-bit memory on the 11 GB Samsung HC14, it utilized a 384-bit setup of Samsung HC16 chips with 24 GB. The result was a graphics card on a reinforced PCB with no disabled blocks or empty memory contact pads.

Despite the Turing architecture being outdated, the platform continues to receive support, with Nvidia releasing driver updates — support for DLSS 4.5 was added just this January. The Titan RTX graphics card became the last in the series to be sold commercially — there have been rumors about a successor based on the Ada architecture, but this model never made it to mass production.

In the Time Spy Graphics test, the enthusiast's air-cooled graphics card scored 18,038 points. In public rankings, the average score is 14,657, with record scores ranging from 19,000 to 20,000, meaning Jiacheng Liu achieved a result close to the maximum limit. This is a bold move, as both graphics cards still hold considerable value after all these years.
