Video. The device is designed for easy assembly of printed circuit boards with solder paste at home.
Since the first project announcement, a lot of useful changes have taken place:
- The most important thing is the completion of support for leaded solders (using MCH heaters).
- The web application has been completely redesigned under Material Design 3.
- The construction has noticeably improved (no more need for glue, and the height of the case has been reduced).
- Import-export of thermal profiles has been added.
- A fixture for applying thermal paste has been added, so that everyone can manage it accurately.
- A built-in milliohm meter has been added for selecting pairs of heaters.
- The BOM has been improved, so that almost all components can be ordered from JLCPCB and its satellites. There are a few items left externally (on AliExpress).
- The project has been migrated to EasyEDA Pro (it's much more convenient if the project has many boards).
- Many different changes, which are easier to review in the commit history.
In brief, the focus has been on supporting lead solders, improving repeatability, and bringing the project to a 'solid product level'.
The cost comes to about $105 plus shipping if making one unit. It's slightly more expensive than Miniware, but significantly more capable. If assembling several units, it's about $40-50 cheaper, since most components arrive in larger quantities.
