On April 28, the next version of the Fedora Linux distribution family – 44 – was quietly released. The Fedora team prefers to test the distribution before release, which caused the launch to be delayed twice according to the standard protocol (the original date was April 14).
Key Innovations
- Gnome 50: code related to X11 has been removed;
- Anaconda Installer: the logic of creating network profiles has been changed;
- Wine NTSYNC: support for the NTSYNC kernel module is enabled by default, which improves the performance and stability of applications using Wine, especially games;
This is the first release of Fedora Linux that provides reproducible builds (reproducible builds) of all packages.
Kernel version 6.19 – there's no rush.
