The fifth corrective update for the Debian 13 distribution has been released, incorporating accumulated package updates and installer fixes. This release includes 144 updates addressing stability issues and 103 updates resolving vulnerabilities. Notable changes in Debian 13.5 include updates to the latest stable versions of the apache2, openssl, and systemd packages. The dav4tbsync package has been removed, as its functionality is now available in Thunderbird 140.
Installation builds for a 'fresh start' with Debian 13.5 will be prepared in the upcoming hours. Previously installed systems that are kept up to date will receive updates present in Debian 13.5 through the standard update installation system. Security issue fixes included in the new Debian releases will be available to users as updates are released via the security.debian.org service.
Simultaneously, a new release of the previous stable branch, Debian 12.14, is available, which includes 99 updates addressing stability issues and 145 updates resolving vulnerabilities. The following packages have been updated to their latest stable versions: 7zip, apache2, arduino-core-avr, dpkg, openssl, postgresql-15, and wireless-regdb. The suricata package has been removed (the latest version is available in the backports), and zulucrypt has been removed from support due to unresolved vulnerabilities.
