The mail client has been released Thunderbird 151.0, developed by the Mozilla community. The release is available for Linux, Windows и macOS; in the system requirements for Linux GTK+ 3.14 or later is indicated. Release date: May 19, 2026.
The main change in this release is the expansion of support for OAuth and Exchange scenarios. Thunderbird 151.0 adds OAuth login to Thundermail with automatic account setup, and the ability to override OAuth provider settings for EWS accounts. This can be useful in corporate configurations that use non-standard authentication parameters or custom Microsoft Exchange settings.
User-friendly changes also include the ability to sort tasks by creation or modification date. Furthermore, the developers have reinstated Thunderbird as the default application upon program startup. The behavior of signed messages with OpenPGP has been changed: the OpenPGP public key is no longer attached by default to messages that are only signed but not encrypted.
This release includes a large set of fixes:
- Fixed crashes when processing message headers, at startup, when receiving new emails, and in the spam filter;
- Fixed accessibility of calendar tabs from the keyboard;
- bug fixed macOS, which caused multiple copies to be created when dragging and dropping attachments from Thunderbird;
- It is now possible again to unsubscribe from sending messages to newsgroups;
- Fixed the display of the time of receipt of some IMAP emails, where the current time was shown instead of the actual date;
- Fixed the search result counter in the message and the order of results, which could cause old irrelevant messages to be shown above new exact matches;
- Fixed formatting issues when replying to selected HTML text;
- Fixed saving of multipart/related attachments when editing or forwarding messages;
- Fixed Account Hub issues, including password prompts after OAuth login, resetting automatically found settings when manually editing, and opening the wrong account via encryption and signature links;
