Oracle has released a corrective update for the virtualization system VirtualBox 7.2.10, featuring 14 changes:
- Support for Linux kernel 7.1 has been added in the updates for guest systems and host environments with Linux, along with additional fixes for the RHEL 9.8 distribution, and a crash when building kernel modules in openSUSE 16.0 has been resolved. Support for building source code using NASM assembler instead of YASM has been added.
- In the updates for host environments with Linux, an issue that prevented startup has been resolved of virtual machines due to kernel crashes.
- In updates for guest systems with Linux, initial support for the Extended Data Control protocol to access the clipboard in guest systems using KDE Plasma with Waland has been added. The vboxvideo module is now built with kernels 7.0 and 7.1.
- A boot failure for virtual machines with CentOS 10, accompanied by a message indicating the lack of CPU support for the x86-64-v3 subarchitecture, has been resolved.
- Issues with booting virtual machines on ARM systems that have been assigned less than 1024 MiB of RAM have been addressed.
- A problem causing the VIRTIO-SCSI device not to be recognized in the guest system as an SSD has been resolved.
- Problems in the E1000 network adapter emulation code that prevented OS/2 from booting in the guest system have been fixed.
- In updates for guest systems with OS/2, issues with automatically mounting shared directories and clipboard functionality have been resolved.
