The AlmaLinux project has announced the certification of its distribution under the Common Criteria EAL1 (Evaluation Assurance Level 1) security compliance program. The certificate has been obtained for the release of AlmaLinux 9.2. EAL1 is the initial level of certification and indicates that independent testing of the claimed functionality has been completed. EAL1 confirms that the functionality has been verified and is intended for areas where security threats are not severe. Certification may be required for the use of AlmaLinux in financial institutions, government, and military agencies in 36 countries.
