The release of Deepin 25.2 is now available, developing its own Deepin Desktop Environment (DDE) along with about 40 user applications, including the Deepin Music player, Deepin Movie video player, installer, and Deepin Store software center. The project was started by a group of developers from China but has transformed into an international project that supports the Russian language. The distribution repository includes over 8000 packages. All developments are released under the GPLv3 license. The size of the bootable ISO images is 6.5 GB (amd64, arm64, riscv64, and loongarch64).
Desktop components and applications are developed using C/C++ and Go languages. The graphical interface is built using the Qt library. A key feature of the Deepin desktop is a panel that supports multiple operating modes. In classic mode, there is a clearer separation of open windows and suggested applications to launch, along with a system tray area displayed. The efficient mode resembles Unity to some extent, mixing indicators of running programs, favorite applications, and control applets (volume/brightness settings, connected drives, clock, network status, etc.). The application launcher interface provides two modes — viewing favorite applications and navigating through the catalog of installed programs. 
Among the changes:
- The stability of the experimental Treeland Desktop Environment has been significantly enhanced, based on the compositional Treeland Window Compositor, which features high-performance animated effects and gesture control support on the touchpad. server New capabilities for input device management, screen parameter settings, personalization, and power management have been added. The tools for multi-monitor configurations have been expanded — a clone output mode for multiple screens has appeared, along with extending content to another screen, setting different screen resolutions, and scaling factors for connected monitors. The proper functioning of dynamic desktop wallpapers and transitions to sleep mode or screen-off during inactivity have been ensured.
- Search capabilities have been expanded. File indexing settings have been added, allowing the enabling, disabling, and updating of indexes in the advanced configuration section of the file manager. File name searches have been accelerated. An option for including optical character recognition on images during indexing has been added, which can be useful for searching through screenshots and scanned documents. Search results now include snippets of text and sections of images that match the specified keywords for clarity. The extraction of document content during searches has been improved, and changes have been made to increase search accuracy.
- In the file manager, the performance with shared network storage has been optimized, security for mounting and unmounting has been enhanced, and the handling of external drives has been improved.
- In the Deepin Desktop Environment (DDE), the taskbar in window-separated mode displays different icons for different windows of the same application.
- In the screen settings, you can merge multiple adjacent monitors into one continuous logical screen, which can be used, for example, to display presentations or visualize data from monitoring systems.
- A smart mirror selection mode has been implemented for downloading updates, which automatically suggests the closest mirror or allows the user to manually select a mirror after testing the download speeds from various mirrors.
- Operations related to launching applications, using the touchscreen, managing the taskbar, setting input focus, displaying pop-up notifications, and switching between windows have been optimized. The logic for detecting available networks and switching between networks in configurations with multiple network adapters has also been improved.
- Packages with the kernel, delivered with branches 6.6 and 6.18, have been updated. Versions of Qt6, initramfs, ALSA, PipeWire, libvirt, os-config, deepin-debug-config, OpenSSL, OpenSSH, curl, poppler, xorg-server, xwayland, ffmpeg, and other core packages have been refreshed.
- The terminal emulator has been optimized for command execution and theme application.
- The archive manager has optimized archive processing, redesigned password input dialogs, and improved file extraction for long-named files.
- In the email client, the transfer of accounts has been improved.
- The document viewer now implements line-by-line scrolling using the cursor control keys.
- The input method configurator, voice notepad, log viewer, system monitor, and other components have been updated.
