The Core Team has experienced a significant turnover of members due to the high workload, but only one person responded to the call for new members, making it challenging to maintain the team in its current composition.
Additionally, a conflict with the Steering Committee is mentioned, stemming from its excessive interference in the Core Team's area of responsibility, poor communication, and a lack of proper delegation of authority. Disagreements stalled the reform of moderation and governance processes on GitHub, and also led to coordination issues regarding GSoC (Google Summer of Code), grant initiatives, and the policy on the use of AI tools. Issues also arose from differing decision-making approaches; the Core Team employed a consensus-based model, while the Steering Committee used a majority vote.
