Release of operating system Solaris 11.4 SRU95

Oracle has released an update to the Solaris 11.4 operating system, SRU 95 (Support Repository Update), which includes a series of significant changes and improvements for the Solaris 11.4 branch. To install the proposed fixes in the update, simply run the command ‘pkg update’. Users can also take advantage of the free Solaris 11.4 CBE (Common Build Environment), developed using a continuous publishing model for new versions.

Among the changes in the new version:

• The ‘zpool monitor’ command now supports selecting multiple providers (tracked subsystems such as send, receive, destroy, scrub, and resilver) and setting a default provider.
• Support for the CTF (Compact C Type Format) format with the .SUNW_ldynsym debug symbol table has been added for outputting information about types and function names.
• The linker ld has added the option ‘-zrelax=relocfit’ and the DF_SUNW_RELAX_RELOCFIT flag for ELF files, which includes a flexible relocation address packing mode.
• Updated versions of software include Ansible Core 2.21.1, Apache HTTP Server 2.4.67, BIND 9.20.23, Erlang 28.5.0.2, Firefox 140.10.0esr, Go 1.25.11, MySQL 8.4.10, OpenSSH 10.4p1, Rust 1.96.0, SQLite 3.53.2, and Vim 9.2.0513.
• Vulnerabilities have been fixed in 7-Zip, Ansible Core, Apache HTTP Server, Apache Tomcat, BIND, Django, Elixir, Erlang, Firefox, Thunderbird, Go, GnuTLS, ImageMagick, libarchive, libexpat, libgcrypt, libsodium, MySQL, NSS, OpenSSH, Rust, SQLite, Squid, Vim, Wireshark, GNOME, Avahi, curl, libtiff, Memcached, Net-SNMP, ProFTPD, CUPS, jq, Kerberos, Node.js, Perl, Python, Samba, and X11 stack components.
