Fans' favorite Mortal Kombat black ninja, Noob Saibot, will appear in Mortal Kombat 11. In a new bloody and bone-crushing trailer, which YouTube wisely prompts consent to view before launching, the developers from NetherRealm studio confirmed the return of the fighter.
Noob Saibot, named after the series creators Ed Boon and John Tobias, first appeared as a hidden non-playable character in Mortal Kombat II. The new introductory trailer shows how this demonic ninja, who fell into hell as Bi-Han and was resurrected after death, battles several characters including his former brother, Sub-Zero.
The demonstration of Saibot's combat moves concludes with a finishing move that involves slicing open the abdomen, penetrating in the form of a dark ghost into the chest cavity of the defeated opponent, and tearing him in half through the gaping mouth. For series enthusiasts, the unnatural, absurdity-driven brutality is quite familiar, but the enhanced graphics elevate it to a new level.
It was also recently announced that from March 27 to April 1, those who pre-order will have the chance to participate in a closed beta test, which will feature only 5 fighters: Scorpion, Cabal, Jade, Scarlett, and Baraka.
The launch of Mortal Kombat 11 is set for April 23 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The entire first batch for PS4 will be released in a special edition, which will include an exclusive skin for Scarlett. Everyone who pre-orders will receive an additional fighter – Shao Kahn.
