As new games are launching, for which AMD has been closely collaborating with developers, the company has recently been releasing special trailers showcasing optimizations and balanced settings. Previous videos focused on Devil May Cry 5 and the Resident Evil 2 remake from Capcom — both projects utilize the RE Engine. The new trailer concerns the cooperative action game Tom Clancy’s The Division 2 published by Ubisoft.
In the trailer, the company mentions its close collaboration with developers, which has enabled the project to benefit from several Radeon graphics card technologies. For example, AMD discusses the support for asynchronous computing, allowing the GPU to efficiently handle graphical and computational loads simultaneously. Another technology, Shader Intrinsic Functions, enables developers to access the hardware directly, bypassing the graphics API, which also enhances performance and reduces CPU load. As a result, the project gains nearly the same advantages of low-level access as on consoles.
The manufacturer states that owners of Radeon RX 570 and above can confidently expect up to 70 frames per second at high settings in DirectX 12 mode, with a resolution of 1920 × 1080. Meanwhile, Radeon RX 580 and 590 cards allow gameplay at the same resolution with 60 frames per second at maximum graphics quality.
Lastly, owners of Radeon VII, RX Vega 56, and 64 can achieve 60 frames per second at a resolution of 2560 × 1440 with maximum graphics quality. Only the Radeon VII can provide a similarly comfortable experience in 4K at high settings. It is also worth noting that the project supports AMD FreeSync technology for a more enjoyable gaming experience. Of course, it is recommended to download the latest driver for optimal performance.
AMD reiterated that new buyers of its RX 570 series graphics cards and above can receive The Division 2 for free, along with Devil May Cry 5 and Resident Evil 2 (2019), as part of the 'Join the Game Armed to the Teeth' promotion, which will end on April 6. According to the official website, it is supported in Russia by retail chains such as Citilink, E2E4, MegaBit, Oldi, Online Trade, and Ulmart.
