At the Game Developers Conference 2019, which took place last week in San Francisco, Epic Games announced multiple exclusive deals with developers and publishers. The most surprising of these pertains to projects from the French studio Quantic Dream: the interactive dramas Detroit: Become Human, Beyond: Two Souls, and Heavy Rain will be released on the Epic Games Store, having been developed specifically for Sony consoles. The system requirements published on the game pages in the store may cause even more surprise.

The requirements for all three games are identical, even though Heavy Rain was released in 2010, Beyond: Two Souls in 2013, and Detroit: Become Human in 2018. This may be an error from the Epic Games staff or the party that provided this information, but players believe that the developers simply chose not to invest resources into optimization. All games require a graphics card of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 level with at least 8 GB of video memory, a processor no worse than Intel Core i7-2700K, and 12 GB of RAM. Another interesting point is that Detroit: Become Human will support the Vulkan API instead of DirectX 11 or DirectX 12.
Minimum system requirements:
- OS: 64-bit Windows 7;
- processor: Intel Core i5-2400 with a clock speed of 3.4 GHz;
- graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 or equivalent with 2 GB of video memory;
- RAM: 4 GB;
- graphics API: Vulkan.
Recommended system requirements:
- OS: 64-bit Windows 10;
- processor: Intel Core i7-2700K or equivalent;
- graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 or equivalent with 8 GB of video memory;
- RAM: 12 GB;
- graphics API: Vulkan.

Thus, the game that debuted last May meets the recommended system requirements overall, not falling short of resource-intensive projects from 2019 (and even surpassing them in some aspects). For high graphical settings and 60 fps in Metro Exodus, 8 GB of RAM is recommended (though the video memory requirement remains the same — 8 GB). Other major releases from recent months are even less demanding: to play Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice on high settings, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 or AMD Radeon RX 570, an Intel Core i5-2500K, and 8 GB of RAM will suffice. The remake of Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry 5 also requires only 8 GB of RAM, although they are more demanding on the CPU (and the latter needs the same amount of video memory). Far Cry: New Dawn requires 4 GB of video memory (though it uses the same engine as last year's Far Cry 5). For Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 or AMD Radeon RX 480 is advised, along with 8 GB of RAM (but a more powerful CPU is necessary).

Although the announcements came as a surprise to many, the intention of Quantic Dream to switch to multiplatform became known earlier this year. In January, they announced receiving investments from the Chinese company NetEase. At that time, one of the studio's leaders, Guillaume de Fondaumière, stated that developers plan to release their future projects on multiple systems, indicating that the exclusive agreement with Sony is nearing its end.
The PC versions of Detroit: Become Human, Beyond: Two Souls, and Heavy Rain will be released in 2019 (more specific dates have not yet been announced). It is expected that a year later, all three games will become available on Steam.
