Analytics for Azure DevOps Services is now publicly available

Reports are an important feature for Azure DevOps users who rely on Analytics (Azure Analytics Service) for making data-driven decisions.

Today we are excited to announce that the features listed below will be included in Azure DevOps Services at no additional cost. Clients will see these changes in their accounts shortly.

Analytics features now available in Azure DevOps Services

• Analytics Widgets — customizable modules that display data on the dashboard to help track progress.
  1. Burndown and Burnup – monitoring the progress of work across specified areas over a specific timeframe.
     
  2. Cycle Time and Lead Time – visualizes the product development cycle within your team.
     
  3. Cumulative Flow Diagram (CFD) — tracking work items as they progress through different states.
     
  4. Velocity – tracking how the team adds value over multiple sprints.
     
  5. Test Results Trend – tracking testing trends, identifying failures and the duration of tests for one or multiple pipelines (Azure Pipelines).
     

• In Product Experiences – Analytics works in Azure DevOps and beyond the dashboard where data and analytics are displayed.
  1. Top Failing Test Report — get insights into the most critical failing tests in your pipeline.
     

We will continue to offer Power BI Integration via Analytics Views and direct access to OData Endpoint in preview mode for all Azure DevOps Services customers. More information about the pricing model for Power BI integration and OData is expected by June 2019.

Current Azure DevOps Services customers who have the Analytics extension installed from the Marketplace can continue using Analytics as before and do not need to take any further action to receive Analytics. Therefore, we will discuss the Analytics extension from the Marketplace for hosted customers.

Azure DevOps Server 2019

For Azure DevOps Server, the Analytics feature will remain in Preview mode as an installable extension on the local marketplace and will become generally available in the next major release.
