Konami has released a list of games that will be included in the Castlevania Anniversary Collection.
Last month, Konami announced the anniversary collections in honor of the company's 50th anniversary. But only now has the content of the Castlevania Anniversary Collection been revealed:
- Castlevania (1987, NES);
- Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest (1988, NES);
- Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse (1989, NES);
- Super Castlevania IV (1991, SNES);
- Castlevania: Bloodlines (1994, Sega Mega Drive);
- Castlevania: The Adventure (1989, Game Boy);
- Castlevania II: Belmont’s Revenge (1991, Game Boy);
- Kid Dracula (1990, NES).
It's quite unexpected to see the last title on the list. Kid Dracula has never been released in the West. This spin-off of the main series (though it is canonical) tells the story of young Alucard. The main villain of the game is a lizard named Galamot, who also appears in Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. It is still unknown what Konami will do with the ghost who has a Buddhist swastika on its forehead.
The Castlevania Anniversary Collection will also include additional materials, such as an interview with Adi Shankar, the producer of the Netflix animated series Castlevania. The collection will be available for sale on May 16 for PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
