The ninth corrective update of the Debian 9 distribution, which includes accumulated package updates and fixes for issues in the installer. The release includes 70 stability-related updates and 52 vulnerability fixes.
Changes in Debian 9.9 include the removal of 5 packages: gcontactsync, google-tasks-sync, mozilla-gnome-keyring, tbdialout, and timeline due to incompatibility with the new ESR branches of Firefox and Thunderbird. The following packages have been updated to their latest stable versions:
dpdk, mariadb, nvidia-graphics-drivers, nvidia-settings, postfix, postgresql, and waagent.
To download and install "from scratch", installation media will be prepared in the coming hours for , as well as with Debian 9.9.
Systems installed earlier and kept up to date receive updates present in Debian 9.9 through the regular update installation system. Security fixes included in new Debian releases are available to users as updates are released via the security.debian.org service.
As for the preparation for the next release of Debian 10, there are unresolved 132
critical errors blocking the release (14 days ago there were 146, one and a half months ago - 316, two months ago - 577, at the time of freezing in Debian 9 - 275, in Debian 8 - 350, Debian 7 - 650). The final release of Debian 10 is expected in the summer.
