A new version of the Windows 10 operating system, the May 2019 Update with the number 1904, will be released soon. Developers from Redmond are already preparing fresh insider builds for 2020. It is reported that in Windows 10 Build 18 885 (20H1), which is available for testers and early access participants, support for some new smartphones running on the Android operating system has been introduced.
The new build added the ability to work with the 'Your Phone' application for several smartphones. These include the OnePlus 6 and 6T, as well as the Samsung Galaxy S10e, S10, S10+, Note 8, and Note 9. Additionally, the program itself has added a notifications feature that allows messages from the smartphone to be displayed on the computer screen.
The 'Your Phone' application can be used on any computer running Windows 10 (Windows build 1803 (RS4) or later). Most smartphones running Android version 7.0 and older can work with it. However, extended functionality is only available in the beta version.
This feature is expected to be released at least a year from now. It will allow the connection of Android smartphones and Windows 10 PCs into a unified ecosystem, similar to what Apple has implemented. However, it is still unclear if this feature will make it to the release, as developers often remove features from beta versions of the operating system and do not revisit them later.
