Not long ago, NVIDIA released version 430.39 of its graphics driver for the Windows platform, supporting Microsoft's May OS update. Among other improvements, this new driver version adds support for new processors that are compatible with G-Sync monitor technology, etc.
The driver includes critical updates, but some users have reported that using it leads to high CPU usage. Network sources indicate that this occurs due to the 'nvcontainer' process, which uses 10% of CPU power even without any load. Users claim that restarting the PC temporarily resolves the issue, but it reoccurs later, with the process consuming up to 15–20% of computational power.
NVIDIA has acknowledged the existence of the issue. A solution is currently being sought. On the official forum, an NVIDIA employee stated that developers were able to reproduce the problem and have begun working on a fix. According to some reports, a prepared patch is already in the testing phase and will soon be distributed to users.
At this time, there are no solutions to the CPU usage problem occurring after installing graphics driver version 430.39. Until an official patch is released, users experiencing this issue are advised to revert to the previous version of the graphics driver.
