It works like this: when the 'Back' button is pressed, the website checks the browsing history and loads the same site that was already opened. The commit on this topic states that in this way, websites deceive users, which causes irritation.
The company has announced a new behavior for the 'Back' button. It implies skipping those pages that forcibly add entries to the browser history or automatically redirect to other pages. In simpler terms, such websites will no longer be able to hold the user back and will not require mandatory tab closure. This innovation will only affect the user interface of the 'Back' button, not the API history.back / forward.
This feature is still in development and will eventually become available on all platforms, including Windows, Mac, Linux, Chrome OS, Android, and iOS. It is not yet specified when this will be possible. Most likely, it pertains to a future build of Chrome.
