In the future, the former property of Innovative Logic will continue its life as an integral part of free and commercial platforms for designing SoCs on the RISC-V architecture. Before acquiring the IP blocks from Innovative Logic, SiFive was forced to license USB interface blocks from third-party developers, which, in particular, limited the opportunities for free licensing of platforms for developing solutions on RISC-V.
