The new release synchronizes the package base with Debian 9.9 (stretch) while borrowing some packages from the fresh antiX and MX repositories. Software versions have been updated, and the Linux kernel has been upgraded to version 4.19.37 with patches to protect against the vulnerability (the linux-image-4.9.0-5 kernel from Debian is also available for installation, which can be selected in the MX-PackageInstaller->Popular Apps interface).
All LiveUSB-related features from the antiX project have been ported over, including tools for saving data after reboot and the ability to configure the Live environment. The mx-installer (based on ) has been revamped to allow system configuration during package copying at installation and improved UEFI support.
