A new version of the cross-platform image viewer qView 2.0 has been released. The main feature of the program is its effective use of screen space. All core functionality is hidden in context menus, with no unnecessary panels and buttons on the screen. If desired, the interface can be customized.
List of major updates:
- Added image caching and preloading.
- Added multi-threaded image loading.
- Redesigned the settings window.
- Added an option for the window to adjust its size to the image size.
- Added an option for images to never be scaled above their actual size when resizing the window.
- Ability to use the mouse 'forward' and 'back' buttons for navigation through images.
- Added natural sorting.
- Aspect ratio data added in the file information dialog.
- The slideshow mode now turns off automatically when opening a new file.
- Fixed numerous bugs and compatibility issues with Qt 5.9.
The program is written in C++ and Qt (GPLv3 license).
Available for download in Ubuntu PPA or DEB/RPM packages.
