A new release of GnuPG 2.2.16 has been released, an open-source tool for data encryption.
Key Changes:
- gpg: the --delete-key option has been added, allowing the removal of subkeys.
- gpg: when updating your own digital signatures with the --quick-set-expire or --quick-set-primary-uid options, SHA-1 hashes are replaced with SHA-256.
- gpg: improved image viewer selection.
- gpg: decryption with the --use-embedded-filename option has been fixed.
- gpg: hints removed when using the --keyserver option.
- gpg: fixed the export of private keys with comments.
- gpg: now, when using the --quick-gen-key option, overly long user identifiers are rejected.
- gpg: support for using AES-192 with SHA-384 to comply with the requirements of specification RFC-6637.
- gpgsm: avoid confusion during diagnostics when signing with the default key.
- agent: when using the --dry-run option, the private key is no longer deleted.
- agent: configured to stop the scdaemon daemon after rebooting using disable-scdaemon.
- dirmngr: improved caching algorithm for domains WKD.
- dirmngr: support for multiple hashing algorithms for OCSP, not just SHA-1.
- gpgconf: the --homedir option is now compatible with --launch.
- gpgconf: validity checks on the configuration file now occur before launching the --launch option.
- wkd: imposed a restriction on key imports (no more than 5) from a single WKD address.
- wkd: now accepts keys stored in a secure manner in the directory.
- Digital signature has been added to the installers for Windows.
