Intel is planning to revive the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) — a series of thematic conferences for developers, IT professionals, and industry press where company employees shared up-to-date information on advanced technologies and developments. Recall that in 2017, Intel the conduct of IDF conferences, which had been held annually for nearly two decades. The closure of traditional in-person events for developers occurred during the period when the company was led by former CEO Brian Krzanich, who made quite a few controversial decisions. The closure of IDF was clearly one of them. The main reason given for the cancellation of the developer conferences was a global shift in priorities, as Intel sought to move away from a focus on personal computers and become a company centered around data processing technologies.

Previously, IDF sessions traditionally occurred in the first half of September, but the company may now opt for a different schedule.
