Gabor Nagy works modestly and unobtrusively on his original creation, rarely delighting us with releases, but this is exactly what I want to share with you (a little surprise at the end).
EQUINOX-3D is a modest, minimalist package for 3D modeling, animation, and photorealistic rendering, running on Linux, Mac OS X, and even SGI IRIX.
In the new version v0.9.9 of EQUINOX-3D:
- The binary file format .eqx, which is much more efficient than, for example, .fbx files, shows a comparison of 138kB versus 15MB.

- The shader generator has been significantly optimized, working with Cg, GLSL, and GLES/WebGL.
- The PBR shader also works with Cg and GLSL.
- The cubemap texture mapper operates in ray tracers.
- More efficient sampling for significance in PBR shader rendering.
- In the editor, you can save textures that were embedded, for instance, in a glTF2.0 file.
- Improved light/illumination maps, shaders now have an 'Irradiance' parameter.
- Support for spotlight lamps in Cg and GLSL shaders.
- Point and spotlight types have separate parameters for diffuse and reflected light.
- You can now load an image for the background when rendering references.
- Modeling
- You can now reload textures modified by third-party applications or by Equinox itself (Ctrl+R).
- Extrude along the spline. You can extrude across the entire polygroup or along each spline separately.
- Edges to splines. You can create splines from the mesh edges.
- Finally, a UV editor has appeared, albeit with basic functions.
Fusion engine is a 'game engine' that can operate independently.
In the new version:
- It can now run in a browser thanks to WebAssembly and WebGL! According to the author, due to the compactness of project files, loading occurs instantaneously, unlike the monolithic Unity. Full PBR rendering is claimed. The author has prepared a small demonstration..
