The release of nginx 1.17.1 has occurred. 1.17 is the current mainline branch of nginx, where active development of the web server is taking place. The current stable branch of nginx is 1.16. The first and so far the only release of this branch took place on April 23.
- Addition: when using the directive hash in the block upstream an empty hashing key now leads to a switch to round-robin load balancing. Thanks to Niklas Keller.
- Fix: a segmentation fault could occur in the worker process if caching was used and the directive image_filter, and errors with code 415 were redirected using the error_page directive; the error appeared in 1.11.10.
- Fix: a segmentation fault could occur in the worker process if the built-in Perl was used; the error appeared in 1.7.3.
