The stable version of the free modular synthesizer has been released. VCV Rack.
Main changes:
- polyphony up to 16 voices;
- accelerated engine with multi-threading support;
- new modules CV-GATE (for drum machines), CV-MIDI (for synthesizers), and CV-CC (for Eurorack);
- fast and simple MIDI mapping;
- support for MIDI Polyphonic Expression;
- new visual module browser (the old text search version is still available);
- undo and redo actions;
- tooltips for parameters.

To develop the ecosystem, the project uses the GPLv3+ license with a special exception for plugins, allowing them to be released under nearly any license, including commercial ones with closed code. More about licensing: https://vcvrack.com/manual/PluginLicensing.html.
