Many default settings proposed by TrueOS have been altered. A series of new system packages called "*-bootstrap" has been added. Since the changes affected the structure of base system packages, prior to starting the update installation process, the command "sudo pkg install -fy sysup" should be executed.
Some features of Trident:

- ZFS is used as the default file system, along with the OpenRC initialization system.

- LibreSSL from the OpenBSD project is used instead of OpenSSL.
