A new version of the Linux kernel 5.2 has been released. This version includes contributions from 15,100 developers. The size of the available patch is 62MB. It contains 531,864 lines of code.
New Features:
- A new attribute for files and directories, +F, is now available. This allows files with different cases to be treated as a single file. This attribute is available in the ext4 file system.
- XFS has infrastructure for monitoring the file system's status.
- An API for managing caching has become available in the FUSE subsystem.
- In CEPH, there is now the ability to export snapshots via NFS.
- Support for the GOST R 34.10-2012 encryption algorithm has been added.
- Protection against MDS attacks on Intel processors has also been added.
- It is now possible to use IPv6 gateways for IPv4 routes.
- Support for the dm_trust module, which can emulate bad blocks and disk errors, has also been introduced.
