Trine Collection: Ultimate Collection Will Also Release on Nintendo Switch

Developers from the Finnish studio Frozenbyte, along with publisher Modus Games announced announced the fourth installment of their magical platformer series Trine back in October 2018, along with the debut trailer and screenshots have published in March 2019. The game will be released this autumn on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Following this, a collection of all four parts called Trine: Ultimate Collection was announced for PC, Xbox One, and PS4. It has now been revealed that Switch owners will not be left out and will also be able to purchase the collection. Pre-orders are already being accepted, with a launch planned for autumn, although the exact date is still not announced. A new trailer was presented in conjunction with the announcement.

The Trine: Ultimate Collection version for the Nintendo console will also be available on physical media, and players will receive bonuses if they place pre-orders. The collection includes Trine: Enchanted Edition, Trine 2: Complete Story, Trine 3: The Artifacts of Power, and Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince.

In addition to the games themselves, Trine: Ultimate Collection contains a collectible double-sided cover and a physical world map of Trine 4. Additionally, players will receive codes to download the original soundtrack of the entire series and a digital art book. For pre-ordering the collection or the fourth part, players will receive in-game digital bonuses.

Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince will tell a new story featuring the old characters: wizard Amadeus, knight Pontius, and thief Zoe, who will embark on a quest to rescue the missing prince Celia, known from the cooperative action game Nine Parchments by the same studio. During their journey through the magical kingdom, they will battle monsters that have invaded the world from the prince's nightmares. As usual, cooperative play is included.

Although the Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince has a page on Steam, pre-orders, including for physical versions, are accepted only on the official website. The game itself costs $29.99, while Trine: Ultimate Collection will retail for $49.99. As a bonus for the collector's edition, a physical world map of Trine, a double-sided cover, the original soundtracks from all four games in the series, and a digital art book featuring illustrations from Trine 4 are promised.
