release of a Linux distribution , designed for quick disk cloning (only used blocks are copied). Tasks performed by the distribution are similar to the proprietary product Norton Ghost. Size distribution — 272 MB (i686, amd64).
The distribution is based on Debian GNU/Linux and utilizes code from projects such as DRBL, Partition Image, ntfsclone, partclone, and udpcast. Booting is possible from CD/DVD, USB Flash, and over the network (PXE). LVM2 and file systems ext2, ext3, ext4, reiserfs, xfs, jfs, FAT, NTFS, HFS+ (macOS), UFS, minix, and VMFS (VMware ESX) are supported. There is a mass cloning mode over the network, including traffic transmission in multicast mode, allowing the cloning of a source disk to many client machines simultaneously. Cloning can be done from one disk to another, or creating backups by saving disk images to a file. Cloning can be performed at the level of entire disks or individual partitions.
In the new version:
- Synchronization with the Debian Sid package repository has been completed as of July 7. The Linux kernel has been updated to release 4.19.37, and the live-config package has been updated to version 5.20190519.drbl1;
- The mechanism for updating boot entries in uEFI nvram has been improved;
- The default launch of ocs-update-initrd for the restored OS in use mode has been ensured (saving and restoring OS images), which has allowed the initramfs to work with different hardware supported in distributions with dracut, such as CentOS. The option "-iui" is available to disable the launch of ocs-update-initrd;
- Entries in the boot menu have been sorted. A menu item has been added at the first level to increase font size for HiDPI monitors, which is also accessible via the hotkey "l". Additional sections have been added to the boot menu for uEFI — configuring uEFI firmware and displaying version information for Clonezilla Live;
- The mechanism for searching the local operating system on the first hard drive on uEFI systems has been updated and the name of the found OS is displayed in the boot menu;
- The package has been added for duplicate file searching based on content comparison.
