Microsoft the possibility of transferring a popular feature from the classic Edge browser to its new Chromium-based version. This refers to the password reveal feature (the eye icon). This feature will be implemented as a universal button.
It is important to note that only manually entered passwords will be displayed this way. The function will not work with autofill enabled. Additionally, the password will not be shown if the control loses focus and gains it back, or if the value is changed via script. To forcibly toggle the display of the password, the combination Alt-F8 can be used.
Currently, this feature is still in development and has not even reached the early Canary version yet. However, once it is released, it will be added to Google Chrome, Opera, Vivaldi, and other Chromium-based browsers. As for exact timelines, these have not been clarified yet. Most likely, we will have to wait for the next major update.
It is worth noting that this feature has been available in classic Edge since its first version. Thus, more and more features of the 'blue' browser are being transferred to Chromium/Google and integrated into the main code of applications. So sooner or later, they will appear in other programs as well.
