The VAIO brand has announced the ThinBoot ZERO Type V portable computer, built on Intel hardware and running the Microsoft operating system.

The new device is positioned as a mobile thin client. It can connect to a computer network via wired or wireless connection. In the first case, data transmission is handled by a Gigabit Ethernet controller, while in the second—by a Wi-Fi IEEE802.11a/b/g/n/ac adapter. Additionally, a module for cellular network connectivity can be installed.
The VAIO ThinBoot ZERO Type V features a 13.3-inch display with a resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels (Full HD). For outputting images to an external monitor, either a digital HDMI interface or an analog D-Sub port can be used.
Depending on the configuration, the computer is equipped with an Intel Celeron, Core i3, or Core i5 processor. The RAM is 4 GB, and the flash module capacity is 128 GB or more.

Among other features, it includes a webcam, a built-in fingerprint scanner, and three USB 3.0 ports. Its dimensions are 320.4 × 15.0–17.9 × 216.6 mm, and it weighs 1.06 kg.
The computer is installed with the Windows 10 IoT Embedded operating system. The claimed battery life on a single charge reaches 12.5 hours.
