The full specifications of the Librem 5 smartphone have been published.

Purism has published the complete specifications for the Librem 5.

Main hardware and features:

• Processor: i.MX8M (4 cores, 1.5GHz), GPU supports OpenGL/ES 3.1, Vulkan, OpenCL 1.2;
• RAM: 3 GB;
• Internal storage: 32 GB eMMC;
• MicroSD slot (supports memory cards up to 2 TB);
• 5.7" IPS TFT display with a resolution of 720×1440;
• Removable battery 3500 mAh;
• Wi-Fi: 802.11abgn (2.4GHz + 5GHz);
• Bluetooth 4;
• Front camera: 8 megapixels, rear camera: 13 megapixels;
• USB 3.0 Type C port (data transfer, charging, video output);
• Combined 3.5mm jack (microphone, headphones);
• GPS (Teseo LIV3F GNSS), gyroscope, accelerometer.

Two options for cellular modems are possible:

• Gemalto PLS8 3G/4G on M.2 connector;
• Broadmobi BM818.

A distinctive feature of the phone is 3 physical switches:
Wi-Fi + Bluetooth, cellular connection, camera + microphone. If all three switches are in the 'off' position, GPS is disabled.
The software is represented by the fully open Linux distribution PureOS with two environments: GNOME and Plasma Mobile. Lifetime OS support is promised.
The bootloader is not locked — it is possible to install any third-party Linux distribution or another OS.

Device sales will be announced in Q3 2019.
