This program is designed for state-owned companies and is a kind of analog to the Chinese WeChat. Interestingly, it is claimed that only domestic crypto algorithms are employed in it. Whether this is true or not is unclear, but the app is already available on iOS and Android. By the way, it has been downloaded about 500 times on Google Play. This may be related to the upcoming release — the app is set to launch in the fall.
The Central Bank is not in a hurry to comment on the situation. They only stated that 'the possibility of payments through the FPS via messengers was initially included in the system's concept'. Currently, they are exploring options, but there are no details yet.
It is also unclear on what basis 'Seraphim' operates. Whether it is a fork of Telegram or a completely original development remains unknown. By the way, the integration of payment systems into messengers is a popular topic in development. It's present in WeChat in China and promised in Telegram and Facebook Messenger. However, choosing such an obscure application seems, at the very least, strange.
