Microsoft has previously , announced that the PowerToys utility set is returning to Windows 10. This set first appeared during the Windows XP era. Now, the developers have two small programs for the 'ten'.
The first one is a Windows keyboard shortcuts guide, which is a program with dynamic key combinations for each active window or application. When the Windows key is pressed, it shows what actions can be performed with various keyboard shortcuts.
The second item on the list is the FancyZones window manager. Essentially, this is similar to tiling window managers found on Linux. It allows for convenient window placement on the screen and easy switching between them. Unfortunately, the application currently has some issues with multi-monitor configurations.
Currently, PowerToys is available on GitHub. The applications are provided with open-source code. The company stated that they didn't expect such a warm reception as before. Therefore, the developers believe that many community members will want to contribute to the development of the new version of PowerToys.
At this time, it is unclear what other utilities are expected in the list. However, it seems there will be quite a few. The open-source status will allow their list to be expanded significantly.
