KeePass is a password manager that has been updated to version 2.43.
What's new:
- Tooltips have been added for certain character sets in the password generator.
- An option to 'Remember hiding settings in the main window' has been added (Tools → Options → Advanced tab; option enabled by default).
- An intermediate password quality level – yellow – has been added.
- When the URL override field in the entry editing dialog is not empty, and the URL field is empty, a warning is now displayed.
- An error message is now shown in case of a failure when sending a password generation request (for example, due to an incorrect pattern).
- Trigger events 'Synchronizing database file' and 'Synchronized database file' have been added.
- The Password Agent import module has been improved to support XML files created in version three.
- The MasterKeyExpiryRec configuration can now be set to the duration of the master key's validity instead of its change date.
- In Unix-like systems, file transactions now preserve Unix file permissions, user ID, and group ID.
- A workaround for the initial .NET error has been added.
Improvements:
- Modifier key sending has been improved.
- Character sending implemented with Ctrl + Alt/AltGr has been enhanced.
- Compatibility with VMware Remote Console and Dameware Mini Remote Control has been improved.
- The handling of the main window state has been improved.
- The main and context menus have been improved and updated.
- Selection of main menu items can now be canceled by pressing the Esc key.
- The top level in tree views cannot be collapsed if the root lines are not displayed.
- New entries in a group with an email folder icon now have the same default icon.
- Automatic scrolling in the main list has been improved.
- If usernames are hidden in the main window, tooltip hints for them are no longer displayed in the entry editing window.
- Function keys without modifiers can now be assigned as global hotkeys.
- Canonical representation of the name/path is now used for web requests to rename/move files.
- Basic placeholders for URL overrides can now be used within {CMD: ...} placeholders.
- Immediately after import, information about the remote object is now added/removed based on the last modification time and deletion time.
- Improved compatibility of the 'Delete Duplicate Entries' command with process memory protection.
- Enhanced handling of commands containing quotes or backslashes.
- Various text improvements in the user interface.
- Various code optimizations.
- Minor other improvements.
