The creator of the Python language, who has worked at Dropbox for the last six and a half years, is retiring.
During these 6.5 years, Guido has been working on Python and developing Dropbox's engineering culture, which was transitioning from a startup to a large company: he mentored developers, guiding them to write clear code and cover it with good tests. He also created a plan to transition the codebase to Python 3 and began implementing it.
He was also involved in the development of mypy — a static analyzer for Python code, which was initially developed by another Dropbox employee hired by Guido.
In addition, he was an active participant in the movement to attract women to IT.
