The updated (2020) models of the Dell XPS 13 Developer Edition have been released.
Over the past few years, the design of the Dell XPS has hardly changed. But the time for change has come, and Dell offers a new perspective on its top laptops.
The new Dell XPS 13 is thinner and lighter than previous models, made from the same materials as its predecessors: aluminum, carbon fiber, and glass fiber.
One of the hallmarks of the Dell XPS lineup has always been the high quality of its displays. The new Dell XPS 13 features a 13.4" 'InfinityEdge' screen with a thinner lower bezel. The bezels are so thin that the display occupies almost all the space, allowing for a 16:10 screen ratio in both FHD and UHD modes.
The keyboard has generally become wider, as has the area of many keys. The touchpad is now 17% larger. You won't miss your mark anymore!
The specifications have also received a slight upgrade. The new Dell XPS 13 replaces Comet Lake architecture Intel processors with Ice Lake processors (i3, i5, and i7) — featuring the latest Iris Plus integrated graphics.
The 'Developer Edition' (shipped with Ubuntu) will come with up to 32 GB of RAM and a fingerprint scanner.
The new Dell XPS 13 (Windows 10) has been available since January 7, starting at $999. The Dell XPS 13 Developer Edition (Ubuntu) will be available from February 4, starting at $1199. The main price difference is due to the more powerful configuration.
