On January 21, ProtonVPN opened the source codes for all remaining VPN clients: Windows, Mac, Android, iOSThe source code for the console Linux client was released initially. Recently, the Linux client was completely rewritten in Python and gained numerous new capabilities.
Thus, ProtonVPN became the world's first VPN provider to open all source codes of its client applications across all platforms and went through a comprehensive independent code audit by SEC Consult, during which no issues compromising VPN traffic or leading to privilege escalation were found.

Previously, Mozilla also assisted with code auditing and security research — they were given special access to all additional technologies of ProtonVPN. Soon, Mozilla will offer its users a paid VPN service based on ProtonVPN. In turn, ProtonVPN promises to continue conducting independent audits of its applications on a regular basis.
