The release of the MATE desktop environment version 1.24 has occurred.
New features include:
- The Eye Of MATE application, the panel-multimonitor applet, and the panel-background applet have been adapted for use with Wayland. Support for Wayland in the MATE panel has been improved.
- The system monitor applet can now display information about NVMe drives.
- Enhanced support for high-resolution displays (window manager marco, network configuration applet, Control Center, etc.).
- Support for mouse cursor acceleration profiles.
- Support for elogind for MATE Screensaver and MATE Session.
- A 'Do Not Disturb' mode has been added for the notification manager.
- Window and workspace switching has been redesigned. Dialogs for switching are now implemented in an OSD (on-screen display) style, are more customizable, and support arrow key navigation.
