It has been announced that Microsoft will soon cease support for the Windows 10 build released in October 2018 (version 1809). To keep the 'tens' up to date, the company releases major updates for it twice a year. The update from October 2018 can rightfully be considered the worst of them. And now, its support days are numbered.
It is hard to describe how unsuccessful Windows 10 version 1809 turned out to be. Errors while working with ZIP archives, issues with drive formatting, and bugs when trying to delete files. Users were also significantly troubled by numerous driver problems with Intel and AMD, along with a great many diverse minor bugs.
On the support page, Microsoft stated that support for Windows 10 1809 will end on May 12, 2020. After this date, the OS build will cease to receive security updates, which will effectively bury it.
According to the Microsoft website, support will end for the following versions of Windows 10:
- Windows 10 Home, version 1809
- Windows 10 Pro, version 1809
- Windows 10 Pro for Education, version 1809
- Windows 10 Pro for Workstations, version 1809
- Windows 10 IoT Core, version 1809
For those still running this version of the operating system, now is the time to upgrade to build 1909. It is also not known for its bug-freeness, but it is still much more stable than Windows 10 1809.
